My 17yr old sister just bought a 350z for $11.5k w/ only 95k miles. Now that's a killer deal for a RWD car with 300hp.

I think if people are trying to stick around the FD price range, which is anywhere from $10-18k, then a 350z would be a good alternative for a RWD car w/ some decent HP to have fun in.

Hinson: $3,893.26

See where I'm going here.

Anyway, back on topic. I've been looking at MKIV Supras lately. 3 of my buddies have them. I've owned a few BMW's and I think I'll always be a Japanese car fan. Toyota makes great cars.
I was refering to Supernaut's comment about LS vs single Turbo swap. Like how is that a comparison? Lol

Was he talking about engine rebuild AND single Turbo swap?

Also..

Please list the complete parts price list for the complete 20b swap.

NOT COUNTING labor.

There is no question going 20b is a ton more than doing the ls, because like someone said if it was cheaper, people would go 20b.

Ahh, I see. I just re-read your post. I thought you were saying a 20b swap was the same price as a LSX swap. Now that I re-read it, I see you were saying LSX is more expensive then a single turbo upgrade. My apologies.

There's no parts price list. Everyone does it their own way. Which is the reason for a lot of the cost in custom pieces/work.

Maybe it is just me but the GTR never did it for me, at least aesthetically speaking.

Lol nah I know a 20b costs alot. I was just saying that the ls swap is more than going single Turbo. And I believe getting a rebuilt plus going single Turbo too.

By parts list I mean the actual part needed to compete the build. Sub frame, any harnesses, etc.

I know some people Fab stuff up to make their setup work, I'm talking about the actual parts needed for the 20b install. Not the fabbed up parts like brackets etc.

Viper Acr for sure. Murders pretty much anything around the Nurburgring. Why trade a ballsout sports car like the fd for a car that drives for you like a vette or gtr. Electronic aids are for soccer moms.

Sorry but a vette doesn't "drive you".

Some pro drivers have a hard time taming the beast.

The vette has an on off traction control button. Unless you're talking about the heads up display? Lol

Yeah I guess that's an aid in one way cause there is no time to look down at the gauge cluster because of how fast the car accelerates and brakes etc. Lol

My friend has seen them in high 50s at an auction. I think as more people put miles on them and newer faster cars come out, GTR will drop in price. Also the economy imploding will help

I'm still guessing at least 2 more years til I can afford them.. until then, I'll drive my Honda TL as a daily and call myself a honda boy, LOL!

I still believe a turbo S2k would be my replacement. It's the only car similar that I could touch for the price-performance ratio. They are small and nimble like an FD, but I admit they lack a little in the looks. The hard tops look pretty nice though. Their engines are very strong in stock form. Easy to make 500whp.

'Also the economy imploding will help '

If the economy implodes you will have a lot more important things to worry about then buying another depreciating (albeit fun) asset....like locating and buying food. Sorry I respect the GT-R because of its power and technology but the thing is so big it looks like a frickin whale compared to an fd.

The GT-R is a big car, but once you drive one it's hard to hate one. I'm sure it will be my next car

You shut your ***** mouth!!

I think a turbo NSX is a pretty awesome car. I just wish it was slightly cheaper to turbo. I'd probably trade my 2nd FD for one.

I agree completely. An S2000 with a little more power and the hardtop would be more similar to the FD than anything else I can think of. Unlike most of the cars mentioned in this thread, it is affordable compared to the cost of a really nice FD.

Let me check my

I'm guessing it was a gear change without correcting the speedometer. If a GM product hits 200 MPH all the plastic interior pieces would crack .

On the "***** mouth" part, I laugh every time I read it. I love the turbo NSX but he keeps taunting us with it. It's just not right
