😲... I was watching those early in the week. Obviously most knew these were going to do well but my goodness. I figure s2000 would land around 150k but not 200k. I thought the nsx would go near 175k. Just amazing. Thanks for posting, forgot about them.

Wowzers is right! Who would've ever thought a low mile limited edition s2k would command $200k. Defiantly a collectors example.

damn his collection is impressive. Click on his username and there's an interview that BAT did with him.

Rich, I have a friend who’s deep in the Nsx scene and boy he was excited to see that.

We are definitely in an interesting price bubble, and I’m patiently waiting to watch a lhd FD go for six figures like others. Still kind of curious when the pin is going to go in the balloon tho.

Well all the cash from the twitter buy-out still has to flow through the market.

The supply chain problem isn't going away for a long time and there is no "Fed" to fix that.

That all said, I hope an FD sells for over $100,000 this year and one might.
Already happened. A Spirit R went for $216k in Hong Kong last year. In Thailand most FDs are $80k+, with a few listed for over $100k. Look at Australia. AN SP sold for over $100k USD last year, and I've seen normal FDs listed for USD$75K+ this year. USA just has cheap new cars, and that severely limits what people are willing to pay for older cars. Why spend $70k on an FD when the new 400Z is such a tempting package, for less money, and a shitload less headaches?

Defiantly is exactly what I meant! Who would've ever thought a road-going s2k would sell for $200k?!?! I personally have never thought very much of this limited model and imo is beginning to highlight the 'true sports car enthusiast' who appreciate all manufactures.

Interested to see what else from JP sells for record numbers.

It seems that the going rate for the top USDM FDs is already high $70s+. The last two excellent examples on BaT had 47k miles and 24k miles, and went for $78k (CYM tax) and $77k, respectively.

The next time a truly low mileage (under 15k) original no stories example hits BaT, it should easily go for $80k+ with potential to go much higher.

It seems the gap between the very top examples and the driver-type cars is widening... I wonder if/when we will see more restoration type work done, or returning cars to stock, like you see in the MKIV Supra world.

Already seeing it, look at the builds forum. A few people removing LS engines, and more and more people doing "tidy-up" type builds. Many more people scared to drill holes in the body. End of an Era, these cars are from the height of the JDM tuning scene, they are much better with a few mods thrown at them imho

"Much better with a few mods" seems to be the consensus.

I wouldn't call a 47k mile FD a top or excellent example. If anything that's a driver's car.

My point was that recent BaT sales indicate values are continuing to increase. The top two FD sales on the platform have happened within the past two months. The fact that one of them was for a 47k-mile modified car (the BaT record, in fact) only proves the point further. That car is probably not the best example to use as an indicator of the market though due to the CYM wildcard factor. The BaT audience goes nuts for rare colors.

I was watching that one. It was a hell of a deal for the buyer. Folks were being too picky. Honestly speaking most of the items listed were easily fixed but prolly needs a block r&r.

With new wheels, shift ****, a driver seat refinish, and a proper detail that car would be solid.

Will be interesting to see if this is the start of a softening of the market.

Ah - did not read the comments. The driver seat certainly looked more like a 150k-mile seat than a 70k-mile seat.

Wonderful price for the buyer and terrible price for everyone else who owns an FD.

What put the buyers off?

The mods? They seem like the base case "reliability" mods, which, may, in any event, actually improve the long term ownership experience (aka "trouble free driving").

The seats make the mileage highly suspect . Was it was a mistake not to upgrade for the pictures?
