So guys i have plan but i need help, if your anything like me 40k for an fd is a little out of budget, but on the bright side some are selling for high 20k - mid 30k but i say we all go on strike and demand the prices down to 30k and lower like it used to be. Everyone ask for 30k tops unless it genuinely worth more and eventually fd’s will be affordable again. Maybe i’m crazy tho

Yea sorry Ajai that ain't happening my man. Save up, be on the hunt and be ready to make a strong offer.
the days of buying a solid running (reliable) good condition FD under 30k is all but gone. The demand for these has skyrocketed as they have for most of the JDM cars of that era. Unlike the Supra These are actually still attainable for a lot of middle age adults. No offense to the younger crowd. I wouldn't be able to afford a FD if I was in my 20s during this time. But just keep your eye out, never know when a deal will pop up.

Okay so hear me out, the cars value isn’t really decreasing since it has already increased tremendously from the past. So no matter what you’ll sell and fd for more than you could’ve before. Also i’m not talking ab a really clean running fd, i just want a decent one and it bothers me seeing people selling a beat up fd that needs a rebuild and body work for like 25k imo that’s absurd, all i’m looking for is one that runs that needs a little work for 25-30k which i think is more than reasonable, anything more than that for a decent fd is too much. imo of course everyone is free to say i’m an idiot for thinking that

You have a bunch of ~50-year-olds coming into their peak earning years chasing a shrinking supply of cars that they lusted after when they were young. Short of a major economic downturn, it's only going to get crazier.

Sorry to say it man, what your looking for is extremely few and far between, possibly no longer exists. The values are no longer at that price point. I say the same thing about a Supra, a 100k mile 6spd Supra selling for $65k+ is crazy but thats where the market is at. That's what people are willing to pay. People are willing to pay $30k for a half way decent FD, it's only going to go up as supply dwindles, Thats just what it is..
Just remember if you find a car that needs a rebuild and/or body work and you get it for $15-20k, you're going to end up well into the $30s, depending on the work you can do yourself.

Depending on what it ends up going for, someone might get a bargain. With some elbow grease, replacing a ton of fasteners, powder coat subframes etc., very careful masking and undercoating, the underneath of the chassis could be restored. Maybe it's worse than it looks, though, who knows. I hate rust and corrosion. Now the seats on the other hand, that's terrible. Hopefully the new owner will source some oem seats or reupholster them.

If you want a deal this vr 94 might be the one to buy IF the rust is surface only.

Can someone help me value my FD
I find it hard to value my FD, there are just way to few 20B cars out there to compare to.
I think the price should be in the 115000 dollar range, what do you guys think.

low compression
repainted
seat issue
rust
It could sell for 40k but I doubt it. That said I think this is a good opportunity for someone to get a decent deal, IF paint (I'm seeing major orange peel so possibly not the best job) is good and no tub rust.
I like the mods, model and year but this isn't one I'd buy because I'd rather spend 20k more and get a much better one. However I'm also not looking for a deal or I want keepers.

A well-sorted 20B recently sold for $55k here in US :

Clean, low-mileage, stock (or at least not wildly modified) cars seem to sell for most.

if you can afford an $80K pickup, the FD is cheap....

The major snag to FD ownership was always the cost of a rebuild. Now the cars are valuable enough that a rebuild isn't a huge percentage of the total value, more people are looking to buy one.
