How to value your FD
#3301
I would say "equivalent" rather than "identical". In the recent past , basic RHD would be less than half an equivalent LHD, in Canada. Maybe its improved to 60%? I would guess, there probably isn't enough data points yet for RHD in the US.
In Canada, prices for both have improved dramatically, with RHD selling for LHD prices of just a few years ago. And current LHD prices are leading the market much higher.
Prices in Australia for RHD are likely at current US LHD levels or higher , even for basic models, such as the Type RB.

LHD models in the same area with higher mileage are going for upwards of $40000 CAD

If its what you say it is, 24000 cad seems like a reasonable price. I havent seen many sold examples recently, but ~$20k USD seems to get you a decent RHD car, where $25-$30k would be exceptional and/or RZ trim at our current 25yr old offerings.
The market in Canada is a bit different though, you guys have access to the last year RX7 sold, I would think that drives the price of the earlier years down slightly.

Yes they can, but its so much work!!! At least for me as I approach my golden years lol. If I was in my 20s again I wouldn't think twice about swapping one back to rotary. I am fortunate to have both a lsx swapped and a stock rotary FD. I agree with Narfle that the stock rotary car has surpassed the lsx swapped rx7 fd in value.

The red one brought 42,500 before fees and such.
I wonder how the commentary drives the price both here and there. I know we are a pedantic bunch, but I would encourage members not to disparage these cars. Or, to reserve such critical commentary until cars sell.
I saw a little rust on the black one, but I'd personally suffer the miles and condition for the better options. Either way for that much coin I would've checked the car out in person. Interesting how close they were in price.

IMO direct impact as I've noticed a few auctions where a lot of negativity is posted, the car(s) doesn't net as much. There are times that I suspect people of having multiple accounts and are purposely posting negative comments in hopes of keeping the price lower so they can get a better deal..

Yep. I follow a guy on Instagram that had listed an Integra Type R. Some guy in the comments said he owned the car before and it was not being represented correctly or some **** and just went on and on with no proof IIRC. Car didn't meet reserve, and it should have.

It’s nice to see the FD get the market response it’s been getting. Long overdue, IMO. It’ll only go up from here.
I don’t plan on selling my stock CYM, but I was fortunate to find it last year. With 22K miles I’m sure it’ll continue to appreciate in value.

for the right buyer and with plenty of patience... its appreciating at a snails pace... a lot of other much younger jdm cars surpassing the FD in appreciation rate..
if its value youre after... its the wrong jdm car to choose... you can grab more value by driving the snot out of it.. imho

Special edition ITRs and s2000CRs aside, the market is about neck and neck. NSXs and Supras are about leveled off.
We still haven't seen really juicy examples of FDs on BAT or similar, since the 3k mile $70k FD a couple years ago, and I bet it would be closer to $100k this year.

Yeah i was waaaay off on that one lol. NightWalker86 & TwinCharged RX7, you guys called it & I tip my hat to both of you. Personally I think it is a great day for the rest of us when a neglected, beat up, terribly modded, high mileage FD can fetch $21K.

I really need to bump up the insurance on mine if this one was worth $22k!

I am surprised it fetched that price but I don't feel surprised. Facebook used to be a good place to scoop some cheaper FD's but prices there over the last month have seemed to jump $7-13K even for junk. The LHD FD is mooning, RHD not so much - are we over the RHD hype?
