YEP, market is doing very well.

Watch this car sell for over 40k..........https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1994-mazda-rx-7-40/

Again I can't over emphasize how much better off you'd be paying 50 for an equal car with similar mileage. However maybe in the current market a similar car with similar mileage is 70k?

The typical low mileage US FD will soon be a 75k car and the rare ones 100k plus

No longer selling my R2 hehe

Also there hasn't been an FD for sale that I would buy in years. The market is bone dry.

PS: Just looked at the R2 auction and the bidding went from 13k to 31994 in one bid. I've seen that happen with really clean GT3s but not repainted FDs......DAMN!

ugh... this doesn't help with my temptation.

It currently has the OEM radio but if I list it. Should go back back to OEM trans tunnel, shift boot, shift ****, ebrake, steering wheel?
How to value your FD-ldnbrfil.jpg

Similar question for the exterior, if I list, should I go back to OEM shocks, wheels, 93 front and wing?

I also have the SMIC and it has the oem battery tie down under the battery cover.

He didn't even fix the antenna or power window. And then he threw in that the odometer was broken for 6 years. The guy buy it and immediately flipped it, barely touching it. Don't know how this sold for $43k.

I think it's a wash. But, you can't go wrong with all original. The uninitiated will not understand modifications and quality.

Shame about that. That's the sort of small stuff that requires some time and hunting to fix on these cars, or some risk in repair. Nice enough car, but no museum piece by a long shot.

I'd say no because you already have the Series 8 exterior – the interior trim is an improvement as well and it should match.

Gotcha.

Some crazy dude bid 31k when the auction was at around 22k. I thought he just bought the car. I've seen that same thing happen on BAT with GT3s. Makes no sense to me.

I actually thought it was a tactic to scare people and keep them from bidding. But then that flipper showed up and bought it with zero resistance from that "crazy bidder". Now that it is over with, my cynical mind would not be surprised if the crazy bidder was a friend/owner that bid right under the reserve price in hopes of raising the ceiling.

You have to be one hell of "flipper" to buy a car on BAT and think there is still money on the table.

Maybe it's time for me to keep an eye out for a deal on a 94 or 95. I've been out of the FD world for too long but I think it's about time for me to join back before I need to dish out another $10K for the same car down the road. Is Bring a Trailer the new best place to source FDs these days? The for sale section here looks to be pretty dead for the most part and full of rollers and rough cars. I would really love to score a CW but looks like those are going for a premium.

I don't know if there's a "best" place to look. Look everywhere. Here on the Forum, Craigslist, FB Marketplace, Autotrader, Ebay, BaT, etc.

The big thing is figuring out what car you want and what you can afford. Then start hunting for it. It's totally up to the current owner of the car where they list it, it's luck of the draw as to where that car shows up.

You'll also have to realize that you're probably not going to find one in an easy drive to you. Be prepared to travel or ship/trailer the car. Also have your funds in hand and ready so you can immediately jump on the right deal when you see it.
