Several of you have this....what is it?

The Ricer Eliminator
I have one of these. I noticed a difference right away. For those that say that the engine doesn't move that much under load.............you have never truly hammered your car, or you are lucky enough to have fairly low miles. Although, I have to agree with someone earlier that stated that they have more of a problem with second gear, rather than third. The motor actually moves quite a bit as the mounts get a little older. You do get a little more vibration at idle, but I like it. It cut down on the annoying movement of the shifter a lot.
It's truly one of those little things that make a big difference.

to whatever guy said this mod is worthless....yer a fool
getting this mod will save you missed shifts to third...which happens to be the PRIMARY cause of transmission failure. A missed shift to 3rd forces the third and fifth gears in at the same time. this will result in broken synchros and often the loss of both fifth and reverse.
get the mod..save your tranny...and ignore the bs coming from the guy driving around like a grampa.

I installed it. I heartily recommend it. Now the FD shifts like it should have from the factory.
There are a few noticeable vibrations at times, nothing I give a rats *** about, though.

The FEED piece has a shock and the 7 store's is a straight brace.
What would be the benifits of the shock? Less virbration?
I'm leaning toward the FEED and the prices are close.

I am fabbing a heavy duty brace from 1" galvanized steel piping, and will post pics once it is complete.
I've had the prototype on my car for a few weeks, and even though I have yet to install any rubber bushings, I get very little vibration and no noises at all. Mine attaches to all 3 open threaded holes on the passenger side fenderwell.
I've had a few PM's about making more and selling them, and once I finish the prototype, (just a few minor adjustments)I'll see how much interest there is, and possibly set up a group buy. The materials are inexpensive, but they are very labor intensive, since everything is hand crafted, welded, polished, and powder coated.
I am going to test fit the prototype on several FD's, and plan on doing some dyno testing to see if this brace affects rwhp. I'll keep you posted!

I won't let go
That part of the brace mount replaces the motor lift loop (or whatever you want to call it, it had the ground strap to it too) and bolts in its place.
It's kinda like installing solid motor mounts without raising the motor. Though I don't know about long term stress on the fender, it sure seems to do well...
I've got good and bad comments on this. The good...you'll definitely help in the missed shifts department (when getting on it). There isn't nearly as much lateral play when you're on/off the gas in city driving and the shifts feel a bit more crisp.
Then there's the bad...I'm not a big fan of the construction. Maybe I just put it in wrong or something, but it makes a NASTY vibration at idle. Mine came with some rubber blocks (WTF) that I guess get stuffed between the fender mount and the fender that are supposed to be for dampening. I think the bushing iself on that side casues the vibration, and it doesn't matter which side you preload to.
Just a hint....I preloaded to the driver's side (counterclockwise) and it seemed 5th wanted to pop outta gear very easily. I think preloading the other way will work. How much? Hell if I know. I guessed. If anyone else has a better guess lemme know. Though since mine is a little wrecked, guess it won' t matter for a while. But it's getting fixed....
