Post Some Pics of your FD! :D <- Pics of your car go in this thread!!
apparently everyone is missing scrub's & my points:
he's not complaining about modified cars (aftermarket body work). he's complaining about people that distastefully modify their cars, or do things to harm the performance of the car, two things that i can agree with.
how are you people missing this point? i think his, and my own, complaints are with people that are modifying their cars for the sake of modifying them, instead of modifying them with purpose or a plan.
as someone who has a car with a modified body (front end, sides, diffuser, spoiler, hood...) i can say that i spent a lot of time figuring out what specific exterior pieces would work well together. i didn't buy random parts that looked cool on their own - i picked pieces that maintained "lines".
unfortunately, some of the cars posted recently do not have the aesthetic "lines" as i was mentioning, and clearly have modifications that harm performance (e.g. stance that causes the fenders to peel off the tire sidewall...) - these are the things we are criticizing.
this has nothing to do with being stock or modified, similar or unique - our grips are with tasteless clashing body work and performance harming modifications.
examples:
FACTORY LINES:

TASTEFULLY MODIFIED LINES (GOOD!
):

DISTASTEFULLY MODIFIED LINES (BAD!
):

so stop complaining and take some advise.

Bratten, I wouldn't give 2 sh$&'s about who likes and dislikes your car. Nobody has to drive it but you, as long as you like it, power to you. I like what you you did, different is a good thing. Cheers.
for what is worth I can only say that Im old school...
Therefore, I strongly believe that if I have nothing good to say it is best not to say anything at all...
in any case; opinions are like ********... everybody has one...

I can tell you a million things that's wrong with that "tastefully modified" example you've posted but my argument is not about who likes what.
I agree with you in performance harming modifications but my question again is who decides what's tasteful and what's not?
lol theorie i like the diagram im big on visuals....
but still yeah some ruin the lines of the car and arent aero dynamic... mind you not everyone is out for speed..
just like alpsta's comment its all about taste, some ppl like heavy girls, some people like skinny girls.... relate that to cars, some people like the lines and flow of cars, some dont like any lines at all? who knows, its just all about the owners taste.
along with what andy said, yeah if you post your pic up here be ready for judgement, but people dont need to be such a ******** about it...
ps +1 on props to mx3 for still posting here too

His car is clearly a show car so the TV's really dont bother me because thats what judges look for. I think it would be different if he were posting in the drag section asking about shaving seconds off his time.
I agree with the lines of the car... but I think a more constructive form criticism would be to blend it going vertical not horizontal. the car is rounded so Its tough to make a solid line going across the car.
If the paint faded from the bottom going up.... I think it would work alot better
Here's my motivation at work

I'm trying to keep her clean for sure. After this winter and upgrading the power some, the interior is going to get refreshed.
tom, what i find interesting about your pick for the "tasteful" and "distasteful" cars is that the rear of them. the angles are different... you point out that the "line" of the car slopes up on the "distasteful", but you don't point out that it does the same thing on the "tasteful" car because of the rear diffuser. of course, the angle of the pic helps hide it...
and IMO, the white car could be debatable about "tasteful" because of the body color. the side skirts lower the body color closer to the ground, but then behind the rear wheels its back to the stock location and u have the sides of the diffuser... and one of the diagonal lines you drew on it is because of angle of the light on the car at the time of the picture...
i personally like the "distasteful" car and think the lines of the "tasteful" one you posted are more off and mis-aligned than the "distasteful" one... but hey, to each their own...
beauty is in the eye of the beholder... and even then we dont stick to just one thing...
ok, enough of me getting in on this... here aer some pics!

^^ I agree with beauty being in the eye of the beholder. But, there comes a point where things need to be symmetrical and well proportioned to a certain degree for them to sanely be considered beautiful. That haphazard red on black car looks like an experiment gone wrong in my opinion... but that's just my opinion. Everyone's entitled to their own.
What fenders are you running? Wait DAWG... arent those the SCHICK QUATTRO RAYZORZ!?
The only place you will be drifting is off the road when your tires explode. I mean, it doesn't take a genius to realize that if you want to keep air in a balloon you DON'T put a hole in it. I'm pretty sure my yellow lab understands that concept.
Thank GOD for those 48lb rims keeping the suspension glued to the ground, or I would be worried about your safety. Cary on, everything looks spectacular mate!

We all can appreciate the amount of work that has gone into the car. But no one on here can honeslty tell my they find that car attractive.

i'm glad someone understands.
mos def. there's a reason why people don't paint their car like this - because it looks bad. LOL
best...response...ever. i literally just fell out of my chair.
The human eye decides and there is nothing pleasing to look at on that car. You guys are argueing on principle instead of about that car.

Don't Post Pics of your FD! :D <- All your keyboard battles go in this thread!!
It's better to visit this thread just once every month if you actually want to see a couple new pics, after scrolling through all the internet arguing.
Even the zilvia.net guys got it together better than we do.
They actually adhere to the "no pic, no post" rule. Click on their pic thread, and every post has a car in it!
Our pic thread is more a place to post (and repost ...and re-repost) replies like "Nice car" or "pur3 pron0," and "I'm fapping right now!" Hence there will be no pic here.
o, wait. Almost forgot.... Nice car!
