Post Some Pics of your FD! :D <- Pics of your car go in this thread!!
Its true haha. I just need the red recaros and maybe the 2002 ABS and we are set. You might have said it before but that is snowy white right?
Montego, your picture of Nelson is for great justice. Thank you.
Here is a nice wheel shot from Carlisi. I forgot who took the pic but you can see how much stud is left for the lug. Not much.

Anyway thanks for the info guys. I'll consider all the options!

well thats not necassarily true. designers dont design the cars to have such conservative fitments. these fitments from factory are created with many different aspects in mind, such as, cost, tire size and cost of that tire size, weight, and also road noise
obviously in a car that doesnt cost as much as a porsche the fitment has to become more conservative because it has to be able to still be cost effective for the customers who buy them
more wheel = more metal = more tire...more of anything = more money
the fitment that i have on my car right now has no rubs and has no adverse effects on the car at all, its actually better because it provides more grip, its just too expensive for the factory to do this kind of fitment and tire size
plus i'm sure they factor in what the rx7 is and they build the car accordingly and take into account that 99.9% of owners will be modifying the car
so if you're going for the fully bone stock look, then thats great and more power to you, but the original designers didnt have the car looking the way it is because the concept cars have more aggresive fitments...the production engineers are the ones that do that change

But like I said, 'sometimes' its better to keep things the way it came... ie, if you are looking for all original car.. like collectors cars that are being sold for millions. Hence, I said, "sometimes"
Nice touch on the subtle CF line! I def like how that came out
Mine is currently out for a rebuild (will come back bigger and better). When I was up at PFS dropping off the deposit and going over some things I figured I'd snap some shots with the phone camera.
I took the wing off, and it's in DESPERATE need of a wash, but I still love her! The hood was slightly popped for these, I didn't think to latch it first.
MazdaSpeed (A-Spec) front bumper, Seibon KS hood, Shine replica FEED sides, RE-Amemiya diffuser, and the base mounts for an Afflux (feed) wing.

And the culprit for why it's out of commission.. A Street Port is in store, along with a big bore TB, extrude honing to the UIM/LIM for increased flow on the intake side and the exhaust side will be seeing an A-Spec Ball Bearing PT6265 kit to replace the sequential BNR Stage 3's and take full advantage of the engine porting. I'm excited to see what 15-20psi will give me

I just redid my seats (again) in a lipstick red BMW leather that won't fade as much as the all natural hides I had used before. I perforated the hide used on the seat bottoms and backs and added some rolls. I put in a cream perforated headliner to open it up a bit.

You can see the perforated bottom here...

Very nice! If you don't find it rude, may I ask how much re-finishing leather seats like that costs to do correctly?
I understand your point, as I have an FD with 20mm spacers to push the wheel far out to the edge or get wheels with aggressive offset to look good and maybe better grip
But like I said, 'sometimes' its better to keep things the way it came... ie, if you are looking for all original car.. like collectors cars that are being sold for millions. Hence, I said, "sometimes"

any properly done copy of a spirit r gets my
the FD even though its now a 17 year old design...its still one of the best looking cars from factory by a great length
it will definitely go down in the history books as one of the all time great looking cars, the lines are just perfection
Wow Gordon, you move FAST. I knew you were going to get to them ASAP. I think I see some of the wrinkles you are talking about but I actually like them there. It makes everything look more organic to me. Do the pieces in the middle still come off? I imagine working around that must be very labor intensive.
I just got back from the bodyshop to pick up my car, it turns out I did win an award at the show! Best import! I beat 2 really old clean jags and a dirty delorean
. Not that much of a win but who cares! The 7 can't lose! Unless it's to another 7 and when that happens, everyone wins!

It's been a while since i posted some pics these from a while ago. I took right before i took the car apart back in june or whatever. Planing on going a bit lower all around car is extremely high off the ground to me.
I didn't even get a chance to drive this season or do any event's. tossed a screw through my turbo got really luck nothing went into the engine.

I was so pissed i took the car apart after i took these pics haven't touched the damn thing until 3 weeks ago when i decided i was no longer mad at the car lol. i do have big plans for it next year.

some of my hp mods

you can really see how much i trashed my fenders. lookin to get new ones soon so let me know if u got'em

You do realize that the rat rod look came about from people that were too broke to afford anything other than junkyard specials... Yeah way to go in applying that idealogy to one of the classiest sports car ever to come out of japan.

edit- fyi rat rods look best with matching rims and slammed
