Wipers stuck on

alright, all you rx7 electronic experts help me out here...hint icemark =]

wipers are stuck on, turning the switch has NO effect....replaced whole switch assembly with another....it worked for about 2 mins...then same thing

the only way to cut the wipers off is pull the fuse, put it back in.....they continue to run.

what can i do?

Sounds like you have some bad juice going to it.

A dumbass mechanic fried my wiper switch by putting a charger on the battery and amping it past 18volts.

Blew a few interior fuses as well.

I wouldcheck all fuse s and maybe check the voltage going to the pins. Icemark would probably know for sure though.

This happened to me as well, The relay contacts arced together, my car had been sittin awhile, and the wiper mechanism was rather stiff, which I think put excessive load on the relay and arced it, I tapped the **** of the wiper switch with a butt of a screwdriver to stop the wipers, and lubed the wiper mechanism, it never happened again, hope that helps you out..Max

Did you put in a rebuilt or new switch? or another junkyard one?
