Where's the TD04?
I've heard lots of people recommending the TD04(b fully built). If that's the better turbo for good horespower, then why do most turbo upgrade kits for turboII's come with the TD06? Maybe I've got my turbo's mixed up here. Someone please tell me which turbo for a turboII, 89, would be neccesary to produce some healthy power?

"TD04"?  That's a Mitsubishi turbo that's TOO SMALL for ANY 13B engine.  You're probrably thinking about a "T04" which is a Garrett design.  The Mistubishi "TD-06" is about the same size as a Garrett T04, so that's why you see the GReddy catalogs list them for applications for the 13B.

The reason everyone else recommends a Garrett T04 is that this can be installed very cheaply with the use of a $300 HKS cast turbo manifold.
It is also cheaper and easier to find Garrett rebuild parts in case you kill the Garrett turbo versus a Mitsubishi one.

probably around $750-1000 for turbo, 3-400 for wastegate, 3-400 for manifold, and a couple hundred for custom oil and water lines. plus you need new custom downpipe and new intake for the turbo. you are also going to need more fuel. a stand alone ecu would be recommanded with bigger injectors and fuel pump, so there's another $2000. it's not a cheap task but it's good for over 400hp.

ANY HKS authorized dealer can order you the HKS cast turbo manifold for the 13B.  Full list is $300, so it should be a little cheaper ($250-$275) when you drop the money.
As for the turbo, check around.  Check out http://www.turbochargers.com/ for some nice prices.  ANY of the "T04" family (including the TS04) will fit on the HKS manifold.
Now, that's the easy part.  You'll still need to custom make inlet and outlet adapters to fit your engine.  You also need to make some kind of adapter for the downpipe for the exhaust.  On top of everything else, you'll need to make custom oil lines (if going with a "dry" center section) which really needs to be made out of stainless steel AN stuff, which is going to cost you a couple hundred dollars!
It's not as easy as you think...you really should be upgrading to a front-mount intercooler, as this is some serious cash on top of everything else.

skip all that other crap!!!
and just put a to4 compressor on a gtx turbo. no manifold needed, no oil, water lines, blah blah. call your local trubo shop and see how much they will charge you. i've been quoted at about 500.00. according on how much fuel your running you can make up to 400 hp.
of course the best way would be to do the custom stuff but if you dont have the money, well you gotta go hybrid!!!
i plan on doing this when my motor decides to go to rotary heaven
