I did it. My car smoked for a while after I started it, as it should have, but I had no problems. It definitely restored compression in my engine. I could tell a "seat-of-the-pants" difference after the ATF was thoroughly cleansed from the engine.

BTW-I had about 96,000 mi when I did it. Left it in there for about 2-3 days.

it will smoke like a chimeny for a while but it cleans out the engine really well...mine never had any loss in power, if anything a gain in power.
To do it you must unplug the egr relay, pull the plugs, clean them or get new ones, try cranking for 10 sec, wait 15 min and try again until no more gas shoots out the plug holes, put a table spoon of atf in each hole, put the new plugs back in, turn the engine over for 10 sec again, reconnect the egr relay, crank and don't let it dye...
like I said b4 it will smoke like crazy for a few min until all the atf is burnt out

I have no idea why you have problems after the ATF. Besides when you have this large of a test group there are bound to be 1 or 2 people who are either complete idiots and/or very unlucky. I locked up an engine performing that ATF trick but I still swear by it because it was my own clumbsy fault. If you somehow manage to screw it up then you logically come back here to ask what went wrong. People rarely post a followup if everything went perfectly.

Would you please be so kind to tell us wat you did wrong. I'm planning on doing the ATF treatment soon (this week) and I would like to avoid doing something wrong. Thanks...

Marco.

sure. I used a rubber hose attatched to a funnel to drain ATF into the leading plug journals, and I forgot to take it all the way out when I bumped the starter. The apex seal swiped off a piece of it and so the hose became lodged between the the housing and rotor.
