Turbo manifold differences?

Hey i own an 85 rx-7, and am considering taking it to the next step and turbocharging my 12a. I recently bought an exhaust manifold off an 87 turbo off ebay, and was wondering what the differences between the 87-88 manifolds and the 89-91 manifolds were. Also, I have a garrett TD04 anda mitsubishi TD04 lying around, and was wondering is either of these will owrk with the manifold I have purchased. Thanks for the help

the only turbo that will bolt to your 87 manifold is the 87 or 88 turbo. I don't know if they would bolt to your 12a...

To my knowledge no other turbo will bolt to the stock manifold without considerable modification. The 89 turbo will not bolt to the 87 manifld and vise versa.

Huh, he already said he is going to modify the maniflod to work, you need to read threads more carefully, you seem to do this alot.

That scares me...
It's bad enough people try to weld the cracks in the stock manifolds, but cutting one in HALF and rewelding it is a whole nother ballgame...

The stock turbo is a Hitachi HT-18S.

The Mitsubishi TD04 is too small.

There is no such thing as a "Garrett TD04". If you meant "T04", you need to give us better specs, as you just named an entire family of turbos that could be too small to way too big for your application.
