What's this tube doing on my engine?

What exactly is the tube with the screw in it doing? What is it attached to? This doesn't exactly look OEM. ('87 TII)

Perhaps if I explain where it is. The spot is the pasenger's side close to the firewall. You can actually see the firewall a bit in one of the shots. I suppose I could take another if you guys can't figure it out...

Yeah thats on my 87 tII to, Have no clue what its for, the end closest to the passenger side had a plug on it on the other end witch is right on the other side of the lower intake had a short hose on it that looked like it would hook up to the gold color pipe out of the sub zero injection piece that bolts to the lower intake but it wasent hooked up. Theres three nipples on that sub zero injection piece one goes to the tank the other is a vac line that goes up to the upper intake and the other is the one im talkin about. I dont see any other places it could hook up to they dont even show that line in the haynes manual.

Any idea what the three lines that are touching it do?

All right think I got it figured out, In the pic I attached you can see that A and B look like they would connect just like all the other lines going out to the ACV. A is the line from a solenoid that goes to the switching adulator on the exhaust manifold. so the line C that everyone's is plugged or just there was a different rout that Vac hose could be ran to go to the switching adulator. Witch makes more sense cause the line that came with my j-spec looked like it went up by the ACV instead of A.

Mine was plugged off as well. There was like 4 lines, and only 3 were used.

Thanks guys. That sounds good and makes me feel better. I thought something was totally screwed up on my engine. It's very weird that they'd have that thing there only to plug it. Costs mazda extra money for something that does nothing!
