Whats the Diff...
Hey guys I am looking to upgrade my base models rear diff with one out of a T2. There is one in the yard near my house but I wanna make sure its a LSD before getting it home, What do I need to look for and is there anything I should look at to make sure its still good? Also I am getting all the 5lug swap for the car..
Thanks again

In order to install a t2 rear/axles into your n/a your going to need a custom drive shaft or an entire t2 drive line swap. Which consist of:
t2 rear & axles (cant mix n/a axles with t2 rear)
t2 driveshaft
t2 tranny/starter/slave
t2 clutch kit
t2 flywheel from the same series engine (if you have s4 n/a engine you need s4 t2 flywheel)
t2 starter
I was able to install a n/a engine with a t2 diff into my car by customizing the n/a driveshaft to fit the t2 rear. I do not recommend doing this what so ever.
To see if the diff is lsd just spin one of the half shafts and see if the other half shaft spins the same way. spins same way = lsd. spin opposite way = open diff.
This of course wont actually tell you if the lsd is in good shape or not though.

Turbo power, activate!

If I am not mistaken, you are going to need a turbo trans, clutch, flywheel and driveshaft to install the turbo diff.
If you dont want to go through all that hassel, and just want the diff, you can buy the mazdatrix driveshaft 2691-799R, it will let you use all stock trans part, but it will allow you to bolt up to the turbo diff. You will also need along with the diff itself, the halfshafts, the axel stubs, and the Hubs if you are 4 lug.
Since you are going for a 5 lug swap, take out EVERYTHING that is attached to the diff, and swap it all over to your car. Then buy the mazdatrix driveshaft.
