It is said you should not use (quality)synthetics during a rebuild as it will defeat the purpose of the breakin period. Should be self explanitory.

synthetic oil prevents wear, and you want a rebiult engine to wear in.

Consensus seems to be non-syn = Castrol

But the debate on synthetic came to the conclusion that if your using a quality synthetic (Mobil 1, Royal Purple etc.), you will have less deposits than some non-synthetic oils.

I forgot his name but he did a full fledged study and calculated the deposits and found out the information stated above.

I believe IceMark did that research. Who ever said it, it makes plenty of snice. I use Mobile 1 15W50. I also premix and the one time I used a so called "fully synthetic" 2 stroke oil, I lost some power. don't really know why, thats just what the butt dyno said. If I were using a MOP, I would have no problem with Mobile 1 tri-synthetic in the chambers and the e-shaft.

Can you people please stop rehasing UNSUBSTANTIATED GARBAGE as the gospel truth.

It is getting extremely tiresome to rummage through all the garbage posts like this, especially when people are easily influenced.

Unless you have done the testing yourself, with years of trails, you are in no position to make the above statement.

With that being said, I'm not telling people to use synthetic, or making any blanket statements as to the use of it im my cars.

Just stop with the anit-synthetic bullshit paranoia!!!!

true that. Racing beat and other well known rotary specialists say that some synthetics actually are much better at lubricating and heat dissipation. It's never been proven that synthetics cause blown motors.
