Question What exactly is direct port n2O injection?

Is direct port nitrous injection when nitrous is injected into the intake manifold directly instead of into the air intake duct? The reason im asking is because im wondering if i can put a jet in after my carberator (i have a carbbed fc) and if so can i use a wet system with the "direct port" style setup? What i would do is just drill a hole in the intake manifold after the carberator instead of before.. this seems like it would work better to me, but im not sure. I know that people usually get plates that fit under the carb, but there arent any that ive seen. Does this sound like a good idea or not? Thanks

I run a direct port system.
Direct port sprays into each "port" or runner via an individual jet.
For your wet setup, you would tap in four jets, one into each runner.
NOS has a kit that will work for $580, but I made my own system using their products.
