What does the clutch switch do?

It's the switch that is pushed in when the clutch is not engaged.

What the hell does it do?
The rubber stopper on mine was gone so the pin was not being depressed.

I taped up the hole to make it switch to see if it did anything and I got some crazy 6k Rpm fuel cut like symptoms.

Does this switch affect how the car runs?

I know my cruise control stopped working when that rubber stop on mine broke. Replaced it and the cruise works 100% again. Aside from that I can't tell you much.

When the clutch is not engaged, nothing. When it is engaged it lets the starter engage.

Not the one near the dead pedal. The other one.

The only thing I know of that it does is tell the cruise control to switch off when the clutch is depressed. It probably does some other stuff as well, but I'm not sure.

Still thinking about this one.

Anyone know? Maybe it's used to tell systems to turn on like the power steering speed sensor?

Just guessing since I get the huge hesitation at 6k when it was depressed. I have a NA chassis which has the PS sensor input on the ECU(which on TII's pin is knock detection)

Maybe I'll pull a multimeter out and see if those two have continuity.

The lower switch kills the cruise control and also signals the ECU the clutch is engaged. Two functions. Nothing to do with power steering. Pwr steering has a switch that *makes* when the wheel is turned. That in turn causes the ECU to open the valve on the back of the intake manifold to up the rpms.

The Air Supply Valve is the valve on the back of the intake that operates during pwr steering. Just FYI.
