vert top question

alright i have the 88 vert with the "black" top,in perfect condition well its kinda faded to gray. is there a stain or something they make so i can make it black again? i think it will make it look a lot better... and also at hobby lobby they have a fabric paint in a spray can that my friend did on his couch. think it could work?

I used a duplicolor "vinyl" spray on my top.. It worked great, still looked like new after 1.5 years.

ArmorAll or Vinylex.
I do not want to hear anything bad about this unless you have something to back it up.

Yeah the Duplicolor stuff works pretty good. Most anything else I've tried doesn't last or whatever... anyway summer is here, put it down and put the boot on.

I have also used the duplicolor. I think Rrtec used that pic to show you the before/After look.

The big advantage of the duplicolor is that the coating bonds very aggressively to the surface. If the base fabric and the vinyl is structurally sound, the duplicolor gives a new surface and really resets the clock on the weathering process.

If the vinyl is already failing, there is nothing you can do to save it. Duplicolor might give you a little more life, but not much.

Armor-all and all the rest of that vinyl dressing 'poop' looks nice, but it just attracts dirt. I really don't care if it 'extends' the life of the vinyl or not. Those are arguments and opinions for someone who doesn't mind if the top is coated with dirt.

It looks like *** when dust and dirt stick in the poop on your vinyl surface.

Ya gotta love that Oklahoma weather.

I spent 31 years in Oklahoma, and when I left her, we were both perfectly satisfied.
