Vert top fastener question

Hello;

I have a 1988 Vert, which had a new top put on about three years ago (Before my brother bought the car)

The people put a few of the tenax fasteners in the wrong spots, and it is even missing a few.

Does anyone know which tenax pegs are right? I already know they are the German (GHE) fasteners, I just need to know the style.

I will probably order from here http://shop.store.yahoo.com/eagleday/tefage.html

Also, can I simply unscrew the ones that are in the wrong positions, or is there anything I need to do to keep from ripping the top?

Now that I have a nearly new boot, I need the fasteners to work

Thanks

Karl

yeah I noticed that my fasteners do not fit with the right setup for my boot so I think I will have to swap them around a little to get them to fit so I can use the boot and not have it flop around in the wind.

Thanks for the link to these above.

Pegs/studs can simply be unscrewed and swapped with a 10mm socket. I suggest doing one at a time as to not disrupt the placement of the top.

As for replacing broken or missing pegs, I need the same info. One of mine are broken off. The rest are pretty crusty. Thanks for the link!

From the looks of it, the 16mm= 5/8" long are the correct replacement. Part # TENAX-3000011.

Yeah, I am planning on replacing all of them so they all look new, instead of the one or two I need.

Thanks for the length check.

I will use the TENAX-3000021, Black Chrome-Plated Brass/Steel

I sent them an email asking for matching bolts

I just measured one of mine and it was closer to an M6 thread after checking with some calipers. You will have to be able to use a different nut on the back side in order for these to work most likely. It won't be and easy swap, but if replacing all when doing a new top it will be worthwhile.

fwiw, this company

http://www.aabestco.com/

is where I bought my replacement top. They offered me replacement tenax fasteners for not a lot of money, can't really remember how much, but not a lot. I didn't need them so I didn't get them. I took a quick look around the website and I didn't find them. Probably call customer service for help.

Good luck.

http://www.aabestco.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=2435&step=4 2.00 apiece, but it doesn't say what color they are, or thread style.

Mine are corse thread to attach to metal "jesus" clips. No backing nuts needed. Should be a simple swap.
