Vert/Coupe downpipe/precat differences?

This is something that came out of an earlier thread about fabricating downpipes... Racing Beat sells a different downpipe for the coupes and the convertibles- is there really that much of a difference that they can't be interchanged? I.e., would a coupe downpipe not work on my 'vert?

The only thing I could think of that in that area might be different were if some of the vert's additional stiffening/reinforcement required a different bend to get past it, but I'm hoping someone has had actual experience trying to interchange them. I'd think RB wouldn't have bothered making two different ones (and selling them for the same price) if it wasn't necessary, but I figured it's worth asking to see if anyone has any real-world experience with it.

The front suspension cross member on the verts, is different than the coupes and has extra metal support that is often in the way of most down pipes made to fit coupes.

That's kind of what I was afraid of. :/ Thanks though- I'd rather know than get something that's not going to work in the car...

yes, cat back is the same, although the factory used a slightly different tuned muffler for the convertibles so that the exhaust sounded better with the top down.

so the only exhaust component that is different is the downpipe? how about the header, presilencer?

It is only a few down pipe made that don't fit.

Don't know about headers as I don't use them on FCs but I suspect that unless RB has a vert and coupe model headers, that most headers would fit.

and the pre-silencer simply replaces the main cat... so there would be no change on that.
