Which VDI position is this?

I am working on a custom VDI actuation project using megasquirt and I can't find anywhere a CLEAR explanation of which is which. I have had it wired "open" for a while, but the wire fell of and I can't remember. Here is a picture:

Remove the bolt and nut, pull it out and look. Closed at low RPM, open at high.

And just how am I gonna know what I'm looking at when I get it apart? Whenever I find out this information I plan on doing a detailed write up so that way there won't be any more confusion...

Anyone?

which position is it at with the actuator still attached - that would be the "low RPM" position.

the FSM should have enough info for you to figure it out, IIRC.

It's just a plastic cylinder with two cross holes in it. one big, one smaller. Look in the bore after removal and everything will be obvious. Don't worry, you can't really break anything taking the valve out.

Thank you very much! I am working on using a linear slide actuator to make the port work...I'll keep everyone posted on how it turns out.
