unblocking ACV..
So i bought my car with the ACV blocked off and I wanted to ask if theres anything I need to do to reintstall the acv and airpump to go try and pass smog. I have the acv and im waiting for my airpump, hoses, and airbox to arrive in the mail. If I can just put the parts on and be marry lmk, but I don't want to end up like a lot of ppl who just ef with their emissions. I want to get this done properly so it functions properly and pass at the test only station. Lastly after smog is there any special things to do to take it off?actuator control valve must be a valve that controls my actuators... right now with the block off plate my actuators don't visually seem to be.. actuating. I'm kinda lazy to look through for all this info I know many people have this info on hand and is pretty straight forward. I can't find my haynes manuel either.. so I'm sitting in my garage with my acv ready to just go in. Please bless me with some knowledge. THanks.

I wouldn't see why putting the parts back on would be a huge problem... other then... most people remove the air pump and ACV because they've put an after market exhaust on. If that's the case, you may have some problems, because the Air pump pumps air into the cat to help with emissions. Hope this helps some what. It's been 3-4 years since I was under my Sport, and I don't remember how the exhaust went together anymore, and my TII is **** stock atm

What is this? If it's an s4 NA then the only thing you left out is the long tube that goes from the ACV to the main cat. Without this piece you will not pass. Oh i almost forgot dont foget the check vavle as well!

You never did reply back with what year your FC is, but if you need any further information, hope this helps:
For S4's ( 86-88 )
http://www.teamfc3s.org/main/factory...ual/1986_1988/
For S5's ( 89-91)
http://www.teamfc3s.org/main/factory...ual/1989_1991/
You should be able to figure out which hoses got to what.

Your profile says FC3S, so that doesn't shed much light on the specific car you have....I will assume S4 NA.
Make sure...
- Air pump is feeding the ACV at the front
- Rear of intake manifold is hooked up to the split air pipe that goes to cat.
- Two electrical plugs on the ACV are hooked up
- Vacuum lines per FSM
- Check EGR operation by finding EGR solenoid valve, unplugging vacuum line to EGR valve, applying vacuum at idle - engine should run rough.
You really want to download the FSM, esp. chapter 4, and go through the emissions check procedure on there. Link is in my sig.

Thanks guys, yup its a s4 n/a. I pretty much got what I needed from pfsantos. Thanks to everyone that contributed. I will take all advice into account and If I have any problems (I probably won't since you guys helped me) I'll be posting back at this same spot for info. Thanks again.
