The Mazda OEM gaskets are very high quality. You get what you pay for. You can make your own gaskets out of 2-3MM copper sheet if you want to spend the time punching them out. But with copper, you have to be sure your mating surfaces are very flat.

Also, please change that signature. Very inappropriate.

Have you forgotten what the exhaust gaskets cost? The block to manifold gasket costs something like $150 CDN. There's no justifying that price by Mazda.

That one's a little excessive.

I recently spent the ~$170 for all three turbo gaskets. It wasn't easy. I also thought they were way overpriced. But when I got them, I relized that they are very high quality gaskets and overall, they are worth the price. Much better than the POS ones that were in there before. Now my Mazda goes Hmmmmm, not pat-pat-pat-pat.......

I should have weighed them while I had the chance, because I do believe they actually are worth more than their weight in gold.

Holy **** thats crazy! I can't believe that. When I went to pick up my gaskets for my NA exhaust-block, it was like 17$cndn!
How in the hell could a turbo gasket be more? its the same principle...

turbo gaskets are a bit more heavy duty than the non turbo gaskets and there is a few extras we need that n/a's don't.

turbo gaskets are a sandwhiched stainless steel and gasket material. Much different from the NA gasket.

Mazdatrix for the Turbo Gaskets:
$69 http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=13-4610-N386
$34 http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=13-710A-N370
$58 http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=13-4910-N370

Don't get me wrong, they are quality peices but like all Mazda parts you have to lube up before going up to the parts counter.

I am a cheap *** and reused my original gaskets (130K+). They have lasted another 8k without any problems at all. I still regret not replacing them, but I think used ones in good shape are probably better than a different kind.
