Turbo gaskets??

Where can i get the exhaust manifold, turbo , and turbo outlet gasket for a reasonable price other than the dealer, racingbeat, or mazda trix. There quite expensive

capn 02-14-05 12:45 PM

well you get what you pay for, you want an exhaust leak? and those hot turbo gases getting your PD hotter? jsut spend the little extra and get a good OEm one

ilike2eatricers 02-14-05 01:19 PM

Some guy on ebay sells copper ones I think

Aaron Cake 02-14-05 01:33 PM

The Mazda OEM gaskets are very high quality. You get what you pay for. You can make your own gaskets out of 2-3MM copper sheet if you want to spend the time punching them out. But with copper, you have to be sure your mating surfaces are very flat.

Also, please change that signature. Very inappropriate.

Snrub 02-14-05 01:56 PM

Have you forgotten what the exhaust gaskets cost? :) The block to manifold gasket costs something like $150 CDN. There's no justifying that price by Mazda.

Aaron Cake 02-14-05 02:39 PM

That one's a little excessive. :)

Crazyt 02-14-05 03:58 PM

I recently spent the ~$170 for all three turbo gaskets. It wasn't easy. I also thought they were way overpriced. But when I got them, I relized that they are very high quality gaskets and overall, they are worth the price. Much better than the POS ones that were in there before. Now my Mazda goes Hmmmmm, not pat-pat-pat-pat.......

I should have weighed them while I had the chance, because I do believe they actually are worth more than their weight in gold.

BlaCkPlaGUE 02-14-05 05:25 PM

Holy shit thats crazy! I can't believe that. When I went to pick up my gaskets for my NA exhaust-block, it was like 17$cndn!
How in the hell could a turbo gasket be more? its the same principle...

RotaryEvolution 02-14-05 05:42 PM

turbo gaskets are a bit more heavy duty than the non turbo gaskets and there is a few extras we need that n/a's don't.

chris_stampe 02-14-05 07:02 PM

I used an NA gasket and actually didnt blow it out. I was running near 400 wheel too.

GUITARJUNKIE28 02-14-05 07:16 PM

i've used the copper ebay, stock, and $12 kragen manifold to block gaskets and didnt' have a problem with any of them.

mazda se 02-15-05 07:28 AM

Im gona shop around but probally go with the mazda gaskets, cause everyone pretty much agrees on their quality. But they are fukin expensive though.

Crazyt 02-15-05 08:56 AM

turbo gaskets are a sandwhiched stainless steel and gasket material. Much different from the NA gasket.

cjbechtel 02-15-05 11:09 AM

s4 or s5, and which ones do you need?

jreynish 02-15-05 11:13 AM

I got my manifold to block gasket last month, it was $19.00 I have the receipt sitting right infront of me.
Why are you guy's getting quoted soo much?

cjbechtel 02-15-05 11:20 AM

i have all three exhaust gaskets for s4 turbo. they came in the mazda rebuild kit when i had my motor rebuilt. but im using a s5 turbo so i will sell them if you are interested. pm me if you would like. ill send you a picture if you want one.

GUITARJUNKIE28 02-15-05 11:48 AM

i've got a pile of used ones in good shape. u want one?

Snrub 02-15-05 12:31 PM

Mazdatrix for the Turbo Gaskets:
$69 http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=13-4610-N386
$34 http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=13-710A-N370
$58 http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=13-4910-N370

Don't get me wrong, they are quality peices but like all Mazda parts you have to lube up before going up to the parts counter.

GUITARJUNKIE28 02-15-05 01:44 PM

and they don't even buy you a drink first :(

rotaryjunky 02-15-05 02:33 PM

I am a cheap ass and reused my original gaskets (130K+). They have lasted another 8k without any problems at all. I still regret not replacing them, but I think used ones in good shape are probably better than a different kind.
