Turbo 5-speed gearbox, RX8 tailshaft housing?

Stumbled upon this browsing eBay. this seemed a bit off, then after looking at couple more pics I think I got it: Is this an RX8 Tailshaft housing on a FC Turbo box?

I'm more interested in the assumed similarities of the tailshaft section if this is true, rather than the validity of any swap project.

Seller said trans pulled from JDM RX8. The jdm RX8 trans could be different, but there were too many things pointing to my first hypothesis.

For one, the aluminum looks aged different on the two parts. Also, the copious amount of sealant. And the case is totally consistent with an FC turbo box, with the inspection covers, and the bolt-on sump plate.

Maybe someone in Japan went to a stronger trans, even though it was a back-date.

The FD trans looks just like that though.
Same ribbed box, inspection covers, sump plate.
The shifter housing is different on the FD, so I think this exactly what the seller says it is, a trans from a RX 8.

if it's JDM it could be the 5 speed or 6 speed.

If they sold a 5 speed model of the RX8 in Japan then that would probably explain this. Otherwise, the 6 speed case doesn't look like those pics at all.

Then it looks like they used the older Turbo case to make that 5-speed, since it uses a push-type clutch like the FC, and not pull type like the FD.

Also, then, the tailshaft housing would likely be made the same for the 6-speed and the 5-speed, so that dimensionally they would be the same and reduce production costs. Knowing they were going to do this, they may have even spec'd the 6-speed dimensionally to match the 5-speed already produced.

Where I'm going with this is for the adventurous soul to see if a FC turbo tailhousing will work on a RX8 6-speed (All swap-validity debates aside. Sometimes you climb Everest just to climb Everest). There are obvious differences in the pieces that comprise the tailshaft housing, but just being able to bolt the two together is a start.

Feel free to be disparaging. I just like puzzles.

Just to add...

The bell housing isn't from an FC. The slave is totally different and bolts up lengthwise, while the FC transmissions have 2 bolts that sit parallel to the engine-mating surface. The only part that looks like a TII transmission is the ribbed center section.

Well if you're really interested in the Euro/Jap 5speed rx8 transmission read over my thread on the rx8club: Solution for transmission(turbo setups) - RX8Club.com

It was only available on the low power 4-port Renesis engine and has the longer FD3 input shaft. A few of the gear ratios are different, but otherwise the main center box section can swap between the RX8 and the FD3 if the correct bell and tail housing is used respectively. The clutch actuation is different on the bell housing and the RX8 tail housing shifter position is about 3.5" different than the FD3.

The 6 speed is entirely different so you can can that idea. The seller actually has the 6 speed for sale in that ad but has mistakenly used 5 speed pictures.
