I have a similiar problem, except it kicks on a couple minutes after driving, when it sits for a while, and my power fc always shows rpm.....anyone know whats up with our tachs?

well if i disconnect the ground wire then my safc-2 starts reading like 9-10k rpms ahile idleing. But i know thats typical. Just cant figure whats loose or possibly disconnected to make both the tach and afc not read......hmmmmmm.

what are you using for a tach input??? If you disconnect your SAFC does the tach start working again???

No tach typicallly means the trailing coil is not firing... no tach with aftermarket electronics typically means something is shorted or wired wrong.
