ssautochrome T3/T4 turbo

I just bought an t3/t4 turbo from ssautochrome for $225 shipped. It's .42 compressor and .48 turbine, have any of you guys had trouble with these turbos? After I purchased the turbo it was giving me worries that it might be too small. If you have experience with these turbos let me know, it will be glady appreciated

That would be a nice turbo if you have 1.8L Piston motor in your car. Turbine is way to small for a Rotary.

Other than it being too small how is the quality? Most people say to stay away from ssautochrome aka stoneracing aka obx. Did you also get the SS manifold as well? My buddy got one for his sr20 and it wouldnt even seal properly because of crappy machining.

I just got it off ebay, no manifold either. I'll just sell it to one of the honda ricers at taco bell, their parents will be paying for it neway.

Yah. Just remember our cars may be called a 1.3L but they don't work like a piston 1.3L

When sizing a turbo for an FC aren't you supposed to look for 2.6 to 3.9L sized turbos?

Yes, the T4 compressor is just fine, but the T3 turbine is a bit small. A full-size T4 turbo would make a better choice. I think one of the BNR upgrades would also be a better choice if you don't want to deal with massive modifications and/or costs.

It's actually the 4-stroke piston engines that have a misleading displacement vs. flow rate. However, since 4-stroke piston engines easily make up the majority of car engines, those who own rotary or 2-stroke engines sometimes need to convert to the "incorrect" 4-stroke piston flow rate estimate. A 4-stroke piston engine only fires half of its displacement every rotation of the flywheel, so you need to double the rotary or 2-stroke engine's displacement for comparison. Also keep in mind that volumetric efficiency and rpm affect turbocharger selection, so you can't choose a turbo by displacement alone. For example, a stock-block 13BT engine with a 7,500rpm redline will obviously not have the same airflow requirement as a 10,000rpm peripheral-port engine.

so when running a turbo on a non turbo engine with higher compression would you want an even larger exhaust turbine?

No, compression doesn't change the airflow requirements.

what about spool up? I've heard from many people and shops that a higher compresion motor will spool a turbo faster is that also untrue?

Anything that causes the motor to have more power (away from turbo) will cause it to spool quicker.

However, raising compression also raises the need for propper tuning and fuel-spark delivery.
