Seat padding/foam
Anyone found a replacement seat foam or know where one would get it? searches for me just turn up universal stuff. I'd like some sort of higher quality something to replace mine. The leather is great, but my 235 pounds has decimated the foam.

i wish i had pics for this, but the seat frame, like the internet is a series of tubes, and the foam goes over the tubes, and over time the bars cut through the foam. my fix has been to peel the cover off and reinforce the foam with tape. when you get it apart you'll find that the factory had a piece of tape in there, but i use duct tape or gorilla tape, and cover the whole thing.
put it back together and its better than new.
if you really needed the foam, you can buy upholstery foam in blocks and shape it with a knife by hand. ive done i think four seats, and the tape is all that i've needed. the seat frame literally slices, so you're just unslicing
the seat covers are kind of a PITA, they are held on by hog rings, and i would suggest a set of hog ring pliers. i never use em and it sucks. good news is that the hog rings are totally re-usable, so this fix only costs the $17 roll of tape

I had to do this kind of repair for my '79 Fiat Spider,...repro foam buns are not available. I learned enough from this video to easily complete the job myself.
I bought extra dense upholstery foam online, along with contact cement meant for foam.
I sure hope this helps you!

I thought I'd just quickly check the folks that had upholstery for my Fiat Spider, and GUESS what I found:
https://www.carupholsteryguys.com/ca.../view?cat=1254
I would highly recommend checking with them,...excellent quality and best price that I could find. They'll send free swatches, on request,...
I can sure use a sewing machine,...but I don't know that I want to try to fabricate my own auto upholstery! I've always purchased it sewn.
Best of luck with your's! Let me know if I can help in any way,...I've re-upholstered a good number of classic vehicles with great results.

Upholstery foam can easily be found online for cheap. Much better for the application than open cell foam,...But that post gets the idea across.
And, yes, it's as easy as it looks! Glue in place, trim with a carving knife, 'rasp' with heavy grit orbital,...you're done. Apply the upholstery.
Without too much trouble, you could probably fabricate an entire seat bun from sheet upholstery foam,...
The fabric is a little more difficult,...it must be measured, cut, and then sewn accurately.
Best of luck with your interior restorations, all! Todd.
