S5 Na bac and thermo water lines
S5 Na bac and thermo water lines
The water lines running through the bac and thermo are still cold even after the car is up to full temp. Is there a common place that this line gets kinked or clogged?
Thanks guys.
I found the clog. It was in the lower tube on the water thermo valve housing. It was totally clogged and I had to remove the wax pellet to clean the hole from the inside.
I think the idle should come down from 2000rpm now that the thermo wax will have some water to get it hot.

Now that the thermowax is operable and the main throttle plates actually closes when it gets warm, I was able to set the tps and the idle and she purrs beautifully now.
I have read through tons of threads pertaining to high and bouncy idle and never saw any mention of checking the thermowax.
In case your a noob, like myself, and have idle problems, it's not always just vacuum leaks or TPS or BAC. Check your thermowax and the water lines that supply it.

Sorry, but with a high idle one should be able to tell if the high idle cam is not moving, but then again if you din't know to look there you might not even think of that to be a problem.
Now you know. Good job.
