S5 beeping

Ever since I got the car running well (JDM S5 Tii swap into 90 vert) I've noticed that I have beeps.

I dont think that it is the power steering.

First, once you put your seatbelt on it stops. I can't see the p/s unit caring if the seat belts are on.

The seatbelt light stays on all the time, even if the seat belts are plugged in.

The second reason I dont think it is the p/s is because the p/s failure beeping sequence in the FAQ are straight sequences. My beeps are in a repeating pattern:

Beep <pause> Beep-Beep Beep-Beep

Here's a recording (just placeholder video)...

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BMGL25HPPG8&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BMGL25HPPG8&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I read the FSM section on the p/s system and on the general body electrical system. Couldnt find anything about beeps.

I pulled both seats and made sure the connectors were clean and attached.

Appreciate any direction to take my investigation.

Jim

My total guess is the alarm. My car has been going nuts since i swapped for s4 doors with manual windows just before my paint job. Still trying to figure out a solution, it works which is better than not working before but now it is too sensitive

Hmmm... Hadnt considered the alarm. Might have to dig into the FSM again.

It's not life-threatening. Just perplexing and mildly annoying.

sounds like the "your seatbelts are plugged in" beep. Most cars have them...

I don't know what to say about the light, that's wierd, because when you plug your seat belt in the beeping stops so the sensor is apparently working. it could be a problem with your idiot lights.
