Unhappy Revs bouncing terribly?

Hi!

I hava a very big problem with 89 TII. At first Revs were bouncing when car was cold and after it was warmed up idle was normal. But now they stay bouncing even when car is warm. They bounce around 1600rpm's. I tried to check TPS But i did not find a plug where to connect tester, then I disconnected TPS compleatly but revs are still bouncing ,tried to adjust idle revs... did not have any effect. Also car is running like ****. It really feels like 50Hp engine not 200Hp engine.

I'm stuck.
Help me please.

LLman.

If there is a loss of power, it could very well be a blown apex seal. Pull the spark plugs, and turn the key. Listen to the pulses the engine makes. If it is a steady thump, it is another problem. If it sounds like a horse galloping, sorry to say, blown engine.

The plug is green and right behind the air filer box. Read this:

Try what my little bro Rico05 says, or try the TPS adjust via:

http://fc3s-pro.com/TECH/HOWTO/TPS/tps.html
I know your car is NA, but the test its the same. you will just have an extra connector on your TPS.

Tester would plug into the TPS itself, not the shown green connector. Green connector is for setting idle.

If both of these pass, come back to us. Really, it could be a huge number of problems.

Rico: Dude, I love your avatar thingy! I need to start whoring a little so I can get one matching. (not that you *****, you are really helpful IMO). Or maybe continue with my 6 posts a day for another month....
You're the best bro! *gives little bro brotherly-like noogie*

Sounds like it could be a slight vaccum leak as well. Does your engine ever die, or get close to dying? An intake leak before the TB can cause a very rough idle/engine dying (ie. BOV vented w/out a check valve). Does the car stumble under load at all, or is it just idle? With a slight vaccum leak a hose can seal improperly when cool, then warm up and expand to seal ok.

Check for vaccum leaks before the TB, or if it stumbles under load check all vaccum hoses. And check your TPS like mentioned above. Sounds like a likely canidate as well!

You described exactly what my car does!!! I adjusted the TPS already, and it made things just a LITTLE better. Can you describe in more detail what hoses I need to look at (and possibly replace)?

Dumb question...the TB is the big square thing right under where the TII stock IC would be rite? (I have an n/a).
