it ran, it dies, initial set...lots of crap

Ok..anybody that remembers..had my engine installed (100K miles + or - whatever) Go it idling, drove it about 25 miles...had no power...reved very slow...4th gear at 2500 would almost die. Got over to drop my friend off at taco bell...took off on a hill after i dropped him so i could head home, very hard to get up hill, had to take off at 3k...anyway...car died...not a studder then die, but brrooomm...nothing...down to 0RPM like i shut car off.

INFO:

1. I jumped the inital set connectoin to get my idle up to about 1200 to 1500 until i start to build compresssion (rear rotor has low comp. numbers..hoping there build up afte being ran and atf'd a couple times), after i got idle set, i was damn excited, and forget to remove the intial set wire...so while taking buddy home, i noticed idle would bounce, varying 200 rmp jumps. thought that tps was just out of adjustment.

2. i pulled plugs after it died...and there was abosolutely...NO fuel or carbon on front rotor plugs..hmmm....i just cleaned them before installing..obviosuly i wasnt get spark there...but you think the'd be wet for fuel..maybe it didnt get to it...:scatch:....the firing order on my plug wires was also not right...had t1 got to rotor 2....i put them on in the dark, so this would be a VERY obvious reason.

Some more info....when i did comp test before the motor even started at all...

rotor 1: 90-90-90
rotor 2: 30-30-60

rotor 2 (rear rotor right) is low...im hoping an apex seal is just stuck...i havent dont a second comp. test since it ran, i was gonna wait about a week in hope that rotor would ragain comp.

any input, etc. is greatly needed/apprecitated...would leaving coupler on cause this? anything you guys can think of...thanks.

another thing...clarifiation of the spark plug order would be great too...

the front rotor right is rotor 1...rear is rotor 2...

on leading coil...wire with dot goes to L1, 2nd to L2....the trailing side if obvious....t1 to rotor 1...t2 to rotor 2

i know i must have something mixed...

come on...please somebody....

If youre reading 30-30-60 youve got bigger problems than plug wire placement.

Have to love the honesty! We can check compression tomorrow again if you'd like.

Those 2 rear chambers are low compression (obviously) and the motor is toast.....If you pull apart the motor there will be a nice chunk in the housing....Been there...Its not stuck...I had one one that was 90-90-90 and 70-40-44.......

I'm seriosly thinking about goin V-8 man...i love rotaries but ****...i just dont have the money for this..taco bell salary man. Maybe the junk yard will do a swap with me...

**** nothing wrong with a v8! Then we can run together once the turbo is done. That's a good idea about the swap with the junkyard.

IF that is an N/A car you have, my friend is parting out a 91 N/A car and its not totalled or anything like that....Actually he only wants like 1,500.00 ( I think) for the whole car....Its red w/ black leather I think, and in okay shape....He took all the emission stuff off and it never ran like it should have....anyway, I think by you turning that car into V8 would be cool but also would cost you a ton-O-cash before it was all said and done. I guess what I'm trying to say if you want a V8 go buy a 5.0 or a Z28, which are cool cars if thats your thang....If your interested in this other car let me know....He may already have it ripped apart...Last I heard that was his plan because knowone was interested in the car as a whole......cool?

I can't speak for Marc, but more than likely he won't want another car. His rex is in awsome shape, and everything for the most part is perfect. Except of course the engine.

Your right about the V8. Pricing of the V8 swap is probably more than an entire rebuild of a rotary.

Your TII is awsome BTW. I am still building mine, it looks almost identical, except different rims.
