what is this part called?? pics..broken bolt

the blue arrow is where i broke the bolt..i thought its the front coolant housing.. but i found the picture online of a front coolant housing and it didnt look anything like mine..help please 1987 n/a

The blue circle and arrow are pointing to the thermostat housing.

i broke a bolt there...does this mean if i cant get it out then my motor is toast?

Nah. worst case senario, you would need to get a new water pump housing. But only if you cant get it out.

Remove the other bolt holding it in, and pull the coolant line away. Then if there is any of the broken bolt sticking out at the top, use pliers to unscrew it and replace it with a different bolt. If there is nothing left to grab, you will need to carve a gash in the bolt and use a screwdriver to spin it out. If you can't get it out, take off the water pump housing and take it to someone who can. Machine shop or something.

You could just tap It out but becareful b'c the housing Is aluminum. Doesn't take much to crack the Water Pump Housing.

Nevermind I didnt see the picture.

Go buy yourself some nice easy outs cause rx7's seem to be prone to this type of bolt breaking.

Man, grab that nub with some locking pliers and unscrew it. Then find a similar bolt.
