i've gotten a s5 from an old man.. which the tranny was out but i got that replace already.. i was just out side starting it a few hours ago, and the coolant buzzer light came on.. i checked the car everything was good.. but the engine oil was all gone... plus a week before i just had the oil changed... what do you guy think.. plus it does smoke alot.. also. im thinking there must be a leak, blown gasket.. or seals out. and oil must be getting into the engine.. my guess.. but what do you guys think.?

First....

Rotary engines have oil injected into the "combustion chambers" in order to keep the apex seals soft enough to seal against the housing. Some people even run 2-cycle premix.

Alright. Now that that's cleared up. What model S5 and how many miles?

are you sure you added oil when you changed it?

If you personally changed it, did you make sure that the drain bolt and the filter were not leaking? Sounds simple, but I've seen it happen....

you said you "had the oil changed"? As in went to someplace like Jiffy Lube? If so & as others have said, check the drain plug. My wife took her Durango to local Jiffy Lube & they missed replacing the drain bolt, and two skid plate bolts. She got it home & had just enough oil left in it to drip a little on the garage floor. New drain plug & bolts by me & no more insta-change places will see our business. I've heard too many bad stories about these places.

Hey Steve...

when I was working at a heating and a/c company over the summer,I had to take in some company vans and the owner's wife's car for oil changes at a lube place and they let you stay in the shop and watch them as they work. They did surprisingly good work at that particular shop. Pricey though,i'd rather have done the work myself, but I wasn't the one payng for it,so who cares?

uhm, im pretty sure that in the FSM/Haynes there is a procedure for checking the Metering Oil Pump/Oil Metering Pump... check it, then check the lines, and injectors. Start with the easiest, cheapest proper fixes before you delve into the difficult and expensive fixes.
