Porting Wastegate

Simple question to those who know

Do I have to remove the turbo housing (Hot side) from the turbo assembly in order to port the WG and remove the flap door?

If so, does the turbo need to be balanced after re assembling it?

Thanks for the help!!

You can just stuff a rag into the runners during porting, but it is better to remove it.

You are not changing the rotating assmembly, so it does not have to be balanced.

I would rather remove the housing from the rotating assembly, are you sure I don't have to balance it after re assembliong?

Just making sure

Thanks for the info!!

unless you change the mass on the rotating assembly, then you shouldn't have to balance it.
