Strange Idle on my TII

Hi all. I have a 1987 Mazda Rx7 Turbo II with 187,980 orginal miles on my engine. She runs great! I drove to Orlando and on my way back the car started to act up. When I shifted gear let's say at 4000 rpm the idle would stay at 4000 rpm till i let out on the clutch and it would rev from 4000 up. Also, when I'm cruising in 5th gear and then put it in nutral to coast the idle stays where it was previously....same goes when i'm stopped at the light. it won't come down.....anyone got any suggestions?

Many thanks,
Mike

Yeah I had the exact same problem a while back....I think I sprayed the throttle cable with some lube and it smartened its self right up. Never happens now unless my foot is on the gas which is most of the time with my N/a.

Thanks for the input I will check it out today, I know my throttle cable is a bit warn out and has cracks in it which I taped up. I thought maybe my TPS was out of wack or something.

Thanks again.
