porting out headers ??

hey guys,

so i got this headers, really rusted i think its 2.25" inside diameter.

would any performance or benefits be gained if i port out the inside of the headers for smoother exhaust flow ?

(while i sand the rust off. )

if so how can i do it that cause its pretty long.

I wouldn't mess with the porting unless you have access to a flow bench and are running a big intake/exhaust port on the engine.

You don't port out tubing. That's a great way to make a hole in the wall. Just clean up the rust and use it as is.

I've smoothed down really shitty welds on cheap headers, nothing like porting though... no grinding, just carefull smoothing with a 120 grit flap disk.

The inside, got a cheap header with a couple big nasty welds, just gave them a quick clean up...

Just regurgitating information, but I wouldn't recommend the header wrap.
