PD delete ?'s SEARCHED
hey,
I looked on the form and i couldnt find anyting, my question is that i am thinking about doing a PD delete w/ a banjo bolt on my 1987 TII. my fuel system is 100% stock and i was wondering if it would affect any the car with not having it on there. I am puting new injectors in the car and will be taking the top half of the intake manifold off any way so i figured i would get it done.

well i did it to mine and there was no affect but you will get mixed opions on this. are you daily driving or weekend warrior? if dd then get new pd like 100 buck @ mazda or Weekend warrior then banjo it up but make sure you get new copper crush washer and make sure the area is real clean so dirt soesnt get into the fuel systemand or between the washeers.

If you searched. You didn't put in the right words. This has been covered so many times.
I can see this thread turning into an argument like it always does.
I would personally switch to a S5 primary fuel rail which has a slightly better designed PD. No screw. The PD is there for a very good reason and I say leave it or swap on a S5 fuel rail.

Check the Archives. There are several writeups including a debate regarding whether or not you should do this. A search for "pulsation damper removal" will turn up hundreds of threads as this comes up 10x a week.

i had asked the same question at one point, and rotaryresurrections reply was
"I've never personally had a problem with the bolt, and I've done it on everything between stock cars and 450rwhp FDs"
i'm in the process of doing this right now myself, we'll see how it goes tomorrow when i put the uim back on
