NA Transmission Into TII?

Ok, so I've searched on this a lot couldn't find anything on it. I was wondering if I could put an N/A Transmission into My TII. I have a 1987 RX7 TII. Thanks in advance for the Help.

I dont think the bellhousing will clear the larger flywheel/clutch of the TII.
Not to mention the driveshaft wont match up, and the N/A tranny will not like the extra power of the turbo.

it'll work. You have to use N/A flywheel, clutch, starter, drivshaft and pinion flange(unless you redrill the T2 pinion flange.) Also should use matching front counterweight to flywheel.

Good luck

Hey thanks a lot for the help you guys. Any idea how the N/A Transmissions hold up against the Turbo's Power Output?

Well I am rebuilding my T2 Tranny right now, and I thought it would be good to have a spare. I found an N/A tranny at the junkyard I could get for cheap, I just wanted to know how easy it would be to put it in/if it was possible. BUt the syncros for my T2 Transmission should arrive Tomorrow, so I don't really have to worry about it. But thanks for the help guys.

Loads of people have run a lot of power through the NA transmission.

You can swap the NA transmission onto the TII if you swap on the NA flywheel and clutch assembly, NA slave cylinder and NA starter. You will then need a custom driveshaft to meet up with the NA rear end.

So it's far from a bolt on. If you already have a TII transmission then stick with it. It's stronger then the NA unit.
