Ok im stumped...

If you've read my other post you know im new. Heres the problem...when the rx-7 heats up it starts cutting out. To me it feels like vapor lock (you can get to about 1/4 throttle and it just dies out then hits a second then dies again). Put in a new thermostat, and flushed the radiator , and filled with antifreeze (had like two cups of rust water in it before). I let it warm up with the radiator cap off untill i saw a good constent flow. The "add coolant" light AND BUZZER is randomly coming on and off and it still has the same problem just not as bad. Any ideas on what it could be?

check the water sensor, at the top of the radiator, it could be loose or broken. also check the whole wire run from that sensor, since it can break or be cut very easily. you may need to splice it, and replace the sensor, but the price to do that is not that much. that might stop the add coolent light from going off, but i dont know if that will help your other issues. the last thing you can check is all your grounds and make sure they are good. search grounds and you will find alto of writeups on them. the grounds are one of the weak points in the car, so adding/replace them might help you out too. hope this helps you out.

ok, you bumped (whch isn't allowed in this section) and you didn't even say whatelse you have tried since your last post, or whether the suggestions given helped at all?????

The cutting out to me almost sounds like an AFM problem.

Explain how hot the car gets, you said "when the RX-7 heats up it starts cuting out" heats up as in OVER-heated, or just running temp? And this statement to me indicates that the car runs absoluetely flawlessly when its cold.....but how can you even tell since when the cars cold it won't run to its full potential anyways...nor should it be when its cold.....

Expand on your problem and what you've tried, just bumping with no info isn't going to get you anywhere.

Sorry about bumping. It's not over heating or atleast not showing any signs of over heating. I dont know what the cars full potential is seeing as it's my first rotary and i just got it yesterday. When its cold it's VERY peppy and runs fine... when it heats up ( guage shows temp a little above 1/4 ) is when it starts cutting out. I'm at work now ( stereo shop ) so im going to check and change all the ground connections when we close. I read something about a "dreaded 3500 to 3800 rpm hesitation" and realized that is close the rpm that its doing it now. It's ALOT better since i did the coolant work but still not up to par. I'll write back after i try the grounds.

Shane...

Air flow meter.......but Im starting to question it as the car would have some issues whether its cold or not if the AFM was the problem.....

Try your basic maintenance items first off....plugs, wires, clean up your grounds etc. (look for the 60k tune up in the archives) they may not be the cause, but will help to troubleshoot it since you've gotta start checking off items somewhere along the line and those maintenance items will be needed (if not now) eventually.
