s5 na hesitation after 5k

i know its probly somthing simple, but im thinking too hard on it and im stumped... but it runs fine until around 5k rpm.. then if i go any more than 1/4 throttle, it just boggs out.. sputtering. it doesnt die tho.. and if im real easy w/the throttle, it will go till bout 7.. but it seems very lean. like it needs fuel. i have fresh injectors, new walbro 255, new filter, new sock, fresh plugs and wires. .. and its worse w/ a load on it, like if i go half throttle, i may make it till 6k. but if i floor it, it will start sputtering around 4 1/2... thats in any gear driving... in neutral, i may go to 7k. now one thing it may be, is the injectors are from an s4... i didnt think it would really matter, was i completely wrong??

Sounds like your secondaries aren't kicking in.
S4 and S5's have different impedance injectors.

i know theyre a lil, diff. but would that make it act like that? and the fuel pres reg. seemed clogged up, i cleaned it out, and alot of crap came out of it.. could it still be bad, not giving the secondaries enough fuel?

Different impedance means different triggering signals - so the injectors aren't going to deliver the expected/intended fuel. It's worse when you load it because the lean condition is more pronounced the more you load it.

Any particular reason for the Walbro? N/a cars don't exactly need more fuel (except maybe in your case). Or is it just replacing a bad pump?
