NJ rx7 full engine/trans swap?

so once again i am STUMPED... I was wondering let's say i had bought a full FD 13b twin turbo engine and transmission swap, and i had a clean shell, what else would i need other than the engine and transmission to make the car complete? I'm thinking about doing this because i found a shell for cheap and a local place with high compression engines that have good mileage on the,, but whether or not about the mileage i was going to do the necessary maintenece on it. (new apex seals, street port, etc.) And what would be a good place around north nj for a rotary shop where i would be able to have them install everything regarding engine and transmission and anything else i am missing to make the car run... please try to reply asap. thx.

I have rarely seen a case where building a roller is cheaper than buying a sorted working car. Especially considering the low prices of FDs lately.

plus one.. if you dont plan on doin this yourself... your seemingly low cost of a shell and cheap drivetrain is now more than the cost of a runnin FD...
try pricin out shop costs first before you make any moves and itemize what you need for parts..

im in the same boat man, i also got a shell for practically free and a RHD clip with everything for cheap aswell from a buddy. thats what i would recommend if you got good hook ups. this whole car is probably going to cost me about 3k total! i got lucky though.

I was considering reviving an fd shell. Not anymore since it would be better money wise to have a running one as a start

yeah depending on how much the shell is costing, and what parts you need, i guess you can't be sure but getting a running FD is just more sensible since you won't have to go through a hassle with narrowing down what parts you need and if you know how to install them or what the cost of labor would etc. i guess it depends on your budget, and how good of a deal you get.

toss me an fd shell, and i'll find a way to put my 13B n/a in it that's in my 1st gen! there's a way to do anything...you just gotta find a way around all the computer crap. my junk's got a webber... gas and fire is all you need! haha...but yeah, sounds like you're about to spend alot of money letting a shop tell you what you need. tho, they may be right. takes a lot to do it right.
