Now this is BAD Porting
A friend brought his motor to me after buying it and installing it in his car. It was smoking like a SOB. He said the guy just rebuilt it and only had about 500 miles on it.
Well we pulled it apart to find the problem, I started to laught we i pulled the rear plate off.
This guy needed to drop the die grinder when he had the chance.

Yikes...Whoever ported that engine nearly broke every rule. Never port towards the interior, never port past the side seal track, don't let your grinding stone skip accross the sealing surface of the iron...

Im glad I had my motor built and ported by Kevin Landers which might not be the most superior porting out there but I know he does respectable work.
Im not even sure if Landers porting is a mild port or extended port.

Kevin keeps the porting on the safe side unless you ask for extended porting. I think he uses a pineapple template too.
I doubt he remembers me , but I actually met him in person to drop off my motor.

I want to learn to build and port myself, but I'm pretty sure its something you master over time and learn from your mistakes. So if this guy knows how bad he did I hope hes smart enough not to make the same ones the next time, but then again some people think they are right about everything when it comes to their style of building.

common sense.. definitely not. if he had posted pics of these ports before assembling the engine he would have gotten a definite thumbs down and people would have told him not to waste the money on parts in putting that engine together.
even my first attempt at porting a rotary came out 1000 times better than this, this person obviously didn't use a template either nor followed any of the basic rules for porting rotaries, instead he just thought "bigger is better, right?".
talk about a dumbshit move...
