BC No start. No Compression?

Starting my 1988 N/a after 4 months. I changed the rad and thermostat, and all the coolant hoses, and replaced the viscous fan with an electric one. My car wasn't overheated ever; just the old radiator started to seep so I took it off the road and then got distracted and didn't put it back together until recently.

Sure, it's flooding from sitting. I got that part of the no start figured. Before i cranked it i went to turn it over by hand. It's never been cleaned as far as i know and i was worried the seals had frozen in place or something. It turned over by hand and as it approached the plugs it got stiffer. But after a few turns it turned with no resistance even with the plugs in.

So when i cranked it over instead of the rerererererere sound of the car starting it was just a steady reeeeeeeeeeeeeee as the starter turned with no resistance. The starter does turn the engine so the drive isn't stripped

Is it possible that my apex seals... fell out? I know it sounds crazy but it sounds like i have no compression. My coolant seals are intact.

I don't know what's going on. 175,000 kms

After sitting for a peroid of time some will loose compression.
Remove plugs, pull EFI fuse and crank engine to expel any remaing fuel, make certain that the plugs are free of fuel, add a small amount (teaspoon) of ATF into each housing (lower plug holes), install plugs and give it a try. Can always hit the plugs with a flame to burn off the fuel.

So compression issues aren't gonna hold me back from getting it started again?

btw why do they lose compression from sitting and will it come back a bit with regular use?

Apex seals may be stuck in the down position. If you pull the exh manifold you may be able to see in there. If your lazy put some oil of some sort in the plug holes and turn it over a few times to mix it up good.

have you even compression checked it yet?( it is always nice to know what your engine is like inside)
It sounds flooded Bad.
Do what Turbonut said..
remove the EGI fuse..take the plugs out.roll over for 5 seconds..put in a teaspoon of any oil(atf... motor oil,..freakin salad oil...just kidding no salad for you!).
Rollover about 3 seconds..Put in CLEAN plugs..put in EGI fuse and start up the car..do NOT hit the gas.
It should start right up.

No i don't have a compression tester but i'm gonna pick one up. I've got ATF in there now and my plugs are out, i have old plugs for turning it over and i have some new ones in the box. I've just been turning it over "EGI inj" pulled and drying it out. I don't want to try with the new plugs until the apex seals come back because it'll be same story right? Anyways, I'll see what i have tuesday. My new rad is too thick so i have to relocate the battery. I'm getting an optima red top and putting it in my storage bin with 2 gauge. My old battery was just a motomaster eliminator so i killed it. I'll get the new battery in there and I'll try with the new plugs then if it is indeed a stuck apex seal. Is it possible to leave the ATF in there too long? If its just sitting will it eat away at any seals? I guess my next step is to compression test it.

Atf will kill soft seals, idk why people insist on giving advice to use it in our motors. Spray some penetrating oil through the exhaust ports onto the apex seals crank it over to get it worked in the. For bumping the compression use mmo or reg oil. Get some starting fluid and spray it through a vacuum port then crank ur over.

Probably because we've been using ATF for decades and no problems.
