No Spark
No Spark
Ok so here it is. My S4 TII ---->S5 N/A swap is complete. The car started and idled fine yestarday but seemed to have a vacum leak so i pulled it back in the garage and called it a day. Today i come out to start it up and nothing. Starter spins but injectors do not pulse and plugs do not fire. Bac does not come on. It seems as if the whole engine shut down. Checked the ecu and it gives me correct voltage to injectors and CAS. Anyone have any ideas
It just seems wierd that all of a sudden the damn thing stopped working. I didnt touch it again till this morning so the way it was yestarday was the way it was today but now everything has quit. Could i have a bad ground on the engine harness. As for the voltage im not sure i was just franticly sticking the wires for any sign of life
also i just wanted to state, just to get all the info out there, that i unplugged the battery last night after i pulled it in the garage. Like i said any ideas would be great this is the final step (I hope) in this "never gonna try it again" task
checked and replaced all fuses, left ecu unplugged and still nothing, although i can now here the fuel running in the fuel rail so im wondering if the injector is stuck open and it is a ground problem, because the plugs still wont fire, and i took the CAS out and spun it and nothing pulsed at all.
also would my MAF make the fuel system not work right. The airbox that came with the donor car had some black gooey **** looked like melted plastic that never hardened up so i took it apart and cleaned the MAF if i knocked a connector or something loose inside there would it stop my car from firing (my fuel pump is hardwired).

Yea the main relay comes on, and the fuel system relay clicks when i try to start it so everything is working. This is just irritating that it does this kind of ****. Im gonna try to put a new MAF on if i can find one, if that doesnt solve it i guess ill just go through the wires and check everything. But the MAF will shut down the ignition system?
NO...We debated this (J-Rat, Hailers, I think) and came to the conclusion that the AFM has nothing to do with ignition...However (disclaimer), a couple of guys have stated that swapping the AFM fixed problems that sound similar to yours....
well i guess that could be good news. by the way not to debate the whole thing, but i thought the AFM was linked to the fuel pump relay and it had something to do with shutting the car down like if it rolled over or something, i thought i read that somewhere but i could be wrong. anyway thanks for all your replys i guess ill start going down the list tommorrow. Another long weekend on the the 7. Whats new!
