N20 Related question.

So, I was thinking 75 HP shot. Only triggered @ WOT. No fancy button or anything. Just hook it up to the WOT switch, I think we have one right? I don't plan on anything higher because I don't want to destroy my motor.

Question would be, what kit would you go for? I am shooting for $400-$500. Being able to change HP shot would be nice, like a 75-150 adjustment, but I am sure there is a fitting or something that I can attach for that. Any info would be great. Thanks guys.

Mods are in sig, and I do have SAFC-II. Not the greatest thing in the world, but I plan on upgrading to standalone within a year. Probably going to go for Zeal Megasquirt, or something that costs slightly more.

search. There is an excellent nitrous write up around here.

With an NA you will need to get a new fuel pump to handle the extra load at anything more than a 50-75 hp shot. i would highly suggest you pick up a TII fuel pump and/or a adj fuel pressure regulator. I have a TII pump sitting around if you want it.

We don't have a WOT switch specifically, but they are usually included in the nitrous kits, which is a universal microswitch that you mount on the throttle body. You can also tap into the TPS and have the nitrous go active whenever it sees WOT voltage, although only on S5 cars. I prefer the microswitch myself.
You will want a master disconnect. They are usually included in the kits. Without one, you will engage the nitrous system anytime you go WOT. This is not what you are after. It will result in excessive wheelspin, and, eventually, a blown motor.

I exclusively use NOS and NX kits. I would choose the NX kit myself, as their fogger nozzles are of a MUCH better design, and their solenoids are less prone to failure, especially when cycled with a nitrous controller.

You should also count on more than $500. I would aim for closer to twice that. There are a few safety precautions you will want to add.
One is a failsafe method of opening the auxilary ports. Engaging nitrous with the ports closed and you can get nitrous backfire. Kiss your intake manifold goodbye.
Two is a fuel system. Add a walbro and a FPR. Leave the injectors alone.
You'll also likely want a window switch. You'd be amazed how many people these things have saved a rebuild for.
You will also want a nitrous pressure gauge, and a bottle heater.
And you'll want to ditch the included jets. Start at 100-125 hp if your clutch/tranny will handle it. The engine certainly will.
If you use a megasquirt, the window switch, WOT safety, and auxilary port failsafe can all be included for an additional $15 to the unit. You could buy the megasquirt for twice the price of the window switch.

Also you need to add a fuel pressure safety switch to that mix IMO. Fuel pressure drops below a pre-set point and the system shuts down to prevent the mixture from going lean and popping.

Thanks for the information guys. I do have a walbro 255 in the car already.

I will plan for $1000, because I do want all the safety stuff because it would suck to fry the engine.

Is it better to buy a kit, or build a kit from scratch? Like buying the fogger, bottle, lines, switches, etc, individually?

Thanks again for the information. I know it is going to be a while before I can afford this, I am currently only at about $300. But, I save a little at a time to get almost everything. So I figure around summer I should be able to.

I was running a 50hp shot on my 86 gxl. It ran fine, I didnt spray much. I had the NItrous Express 4/6cyl wet import kit.
Here is a write up that helped me out alot.

http://www.1300cc.com/

Go to 2nd generation
engine performance under Hot-To's
then go to the NOS on a rotary, All you need to know.
and that will help alot.

That write-up is garbage.
I usually put together my own kits, as the generic kits tend to give coils of feed line that I find too long, and I hate having a coil of stainless hose in the engine bay.
