'Built Not Bought' documentary screening Burlington - Sat Oct 3rd
Anyone planning on going to this? Looks kind of interesting
Burlington Cinestarz - 460 Brant St. 3 shows - 7PM , 8:30PM, 10:00PM
From their description, it is "A historical documentary chronicling the rise of modified JDM car culture in Canada. From early Datsun's and Honda's - JDM car culture has eclipsed the American muscle car of yester-year. Exploring the shifts in Canadian society and how it relates the the love of the car."

I'll wait until its on Youtube somewhere. It seems to be all about how "today's youth invented self developed tuning" thing. Uhmmm yeah. When I was younger we had to make almost all of our own speed stuff as nothing really existed. Buying stuff from Japan and bolting or gluing it on your car is not building. Very few guys today actually carve stuff out of metal or weld stuff up from sheet, to make something for your car to go faster.
The country your car comes from doesn't matter. Its what you can create from the blank canvas that matters. That's why I still hang out on this site. A lot of people are creating from scratch rather than bolting the latest thing they bought from JRP onto their Civic and believing they are now Lewis Hamilton or Ken Block.
