is my air flow meter causing this

i have an s5 chassis with s4 t2 motor and all the wiring from a GXL except the computer, and wireharness. i filled up my tank and now a quater of a tank but i only drove 75miles. my 7 braps like a bridgeport. and the idle is all over the place. OK i was told that i needed to be using the t2 afm cause im using the GXL afm, and that improve my gas mileage , idle , and my performance. i thought they were the same. and if they are the same what can i do to fix the above. ive been working hard on this car and im looking for advice not abuse from fellow ROTOHEADS. thanks for reading and for your help.,,,,,and im still going to 7stock!!!

don't understand the set up... you are not clear.

Is this a 89-91 coupe that you put a s4 turbo motor in. If so you say the computer and wire harness (two rather important things) are still S5 coupe??? but the wiring and AFM is from a GXL??? (and would that be a S4 or S5???).

You need to be clear on your problems if you want help, not using bumps.

Find a local shop to take care of your headaches.
DYI backyard projects like this produce too many problems to try and troubleshoot over a forum like this.
Good luck trying to find someone to help you tackle all your problems.

Let's pretend you have series four afm and ECU and their for a non turbo. You need first of all to get a series four Turbo ECU, AFM and Turbo BOOST SENSOR to match the ECU.

ok the chassis is a 90 coupe , the motor is 88t2 . i have an 88 t2 computer and wireharness . the chassis wireing is from an 88 gxl. im not sure if the connector for the afm is connected to the chassis harness or the computer harness. im using the gxl afm, is it the same as the t2 afm.

The best thing you can do is fark it off completely, with an aftermarket ECU.

The GXL and TII afm's look the same but their spring tension inside is completely different. This will mess up your a/f mixture. You need to use the TII afm.

The AFM connector is on the emmision harness, not the chassis harness, and the AFM are different, If im not mistaken they even have different part #'s.
