midpipe to replace cat?

can someone recommend a midpipe to replace my cat. or weld a fake cat over too. i saw this one on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/86-92...QQcmdZViewItem
i dont wanna pay 200$ for a racing beat presilencer or some crap. its just a pipe. anyone recommend one plz? (on a GTU)

that one should work fine. I have a test pipe on my 89. It doesn't sound terrible, it's not as deep as I would like but it functions. You gonna remove the precats too?

I need to check out the exaust, i dont know if their are precats on it. i totally forgot about them. ill remove them too if they are on there though. any thoughts on that?

i guess ill need the downpipe too. these say they are 2 1/4. i thought the exaust was 2 1/2? or is that just on a TII?

i would try to find one that has a bend in it the connects it straight to the manifold and eliminates both cats. you could try and have one made too, just get the pipe and have a muffler shop bend it then weld the appropriate flanges on, at keast thats what i did.

that same ebay company has a downpipe/midpipe like that, but it says 2 1/4 inches. is the NA exaust that size? i thought it was 2 1/2?
