MBC install

I installed the TurboXS manual Boost Controller today.

The car is a S4 with ported s5 turbo and a greddy power extream cat back and 3inch dp etc. I was able to run up to about 11-12psi with a single cork sport exhaust. After the greddy install it droped about 2psi wich is expected.

I can support 12psi and i want to set the mbc at 11. If i gradually press on the accelerator the boost controller seems to work as i can build past .7 bar. If i run the car hard 1st gear see's about .4 and the highest is like .6 in 4th. The readinging are eratic and not constant.

my concert is that "pill" that is normally in that line. Does it need to be in there? Should it be on the front side of the boost controller (from compressor) or the back side to the wastegate.

i think the wastegate is doing some weird things.

you will never get full boost in 1st gear.

just set it so you hit max boost in 3rd and 4th.

you probably won't hit it in 1st and 2nd.

with an electric one you might. downside of saving a few hundred bucks.

which pill? does the MBC come with one?

is it a bleed type or ball and spring?

did you remove the stock metal and ruber hose and run new hose right to the turbo nipples?

i was refering to the pill in the s5 vacuum lines (was like that stock).

I just diconnected one line and put the mbc in between the first section.

I just wanted to know where or if i even need the pill.

if you are installing a MBC on an S5 you need to compleaty remove the stock metal line and hose. and connect straight to the turbo nipples.

With my Ball and Spring MBC, I can reach full boost in 2nd gear through 5th. Almost the same in first gear. As for your problem, you just put the MBC between the nipple on the compressor housing and the wastegate actuator. Don't use the metal lines at all, and no you don't need a restrictor pill.
